Public Sector / Government / Nonprofit & Community Impact
A unified brand system for AmeriCorps, aligning multiple programs under a single, contemporary identity. The work creates a cohesive presence across digital, campaigns, and live touchpoints, strengthening recognition and clarity at a national scale across VISTA, State & National programs, and Peace Corps alumni networks.
Directed the visual identity system and rollout across brand, digital, and campaign applications. Led development of the core mark, system logic, and launch assets, ensuring consistency across programs and channels. Partnered with program directors, comms teams, and external agencies to define adoption pathways and train regional teams across 50+ state networks.
AmeriCorps operates across multiple programs, often appearing fragmented to communities, donors, and policymakers. This fragmentation weakened public understanding of the organization’s unified mission and diluted the collective impact narrative. A cohesive identity system strengthens trust with stakeholders, improves navigation for prospective members, and makes the organization’s societal value clearer at every level—from local volunteer recruitment to federal funding advocacy.
One system, many acts of service. A parent-brand identity that connects diverse programs through a shared visual language while allowing individual expression. The central A mark with flag-inspired symbolism anchors the system, supported by a flexible framework for sub-brands, regions, and initiatives that honors local autonomy while creating recognizable momentum nationally.
Unity across programs
(connect without homogenizing)
Clarity at scale
(simple enough to deploy nationwide)
Flexibility within structure
(local stories within national framework)
Recognizable, not rigid
(distinctive mark with room to breathe)
A modular identity system built around a central A mark derived from the American flag, extended into a flexible framework for sub-brands, regions, and program types. Typography, color, and layout rules scale across web, campaigns, events, and physical environments without losing cohesion. Identity guidelines, template libraries, and toolkits enable consistent execution for internal teams and agency partners nationwide.
